With over 400 wins on the Flat and over Jumps, Elite Racing Club has become the most successful in its field.
The Club's very first winner was KABAYIL in February 1993. She went on to win a further six races for the Club before being retired to stud. Our hundredth winner was LADY FOR LIFE, who won a total of six races for the Club. The incredible milestone of winner number 200 was reached by none other than the Club's superstar champion mare SOVIET SONG. The race was the Group 1 Sussex Stakes at Glorious Goodwood in July 2004. Soviet Song won a total of five Group 1 races in a glittering career, including back-to-back successes in the Falmouth Stakes at Newmarket, and her total career prize money exceeded £1m.
Amongst the Club's numerous victories are EIGHT Group 1 wins, multiple Group 2 and Group 3 wins and second places, plus Listed race winners. NEW SEEKER, our second highest-earning horse after Soviet Song, gave us our first Royal Ascot win when winning the Britannia Stakes and achieved another success at that meeting in the Royal Hunt Cup. He also won the valuable Tote International handicap twice. A 12-time winner, EISTEDDFOD's successes included Group 3 and Listed-class victories, while his half-brother, BORDER PATROL, was also high-class. From just ten starts, Border Patrol won four times, including a Group 3 and two Listed races.
The first foal of our first-ever winner, the versatile DANCING BAY was a high-class dual-purpose horse, winning eleven races on the Flat, over hurdles and fences, and was placed at several major meetings, including the Cheltenham Festival and Royal Ascot. DANDINO followed a memorable 2010 campaign (which included success at Royal Ascot among four wins) with a Group 2 win in the Jockey Club Stakes at Newmarket and Kempton's Group 3 September Stakes in 2011. The Group 1-winning filly RIBBONS was unbeaten in her first four starts and won a Listed and Group 2 race, later adding a Group 1 when victorious in the Prix Jean Romanet in France.
In recent years, MARSHA, who is from the family of Soviet Song, won two Group 1 races at three and four years. She improved at the end of her 2016 campaign as a three-year-old to win the provide the Club with a major international success in the Prix de l'Abbaye, and stepped up on that effort the following summer, when beating top-class sprinters such as Lady Aurelia and Battaash, to win the Nunthorpe Stakes at York. Marsha's elder half-brother, JUDICIAL, has proven to be one of the most durable and successful horses in Club history. Initially trained by Roger Charlton, with whom he won three races, he later switched to Julie Camacho and has gone on to win a further 13 races. His tally of 16 wins (as of September 2020) is a Club record, and includes two Group 3s and success in three Listed races.
We have had numerous successes in quality National Hunt races, including the Tote Gold Trophy with MYSILV, while PENZANCE led us to our first victory at the Cheltenham Festival in the Grade 1 Triumph Hurdle. ELGIN was a prolific and progressive winner over hurdles, winning the Grade 3 Greatwood Hurdle and Grade 2 Kingwell Hurdle in a memorable second season over hurdles, in 2017/18, that led to a peak official rating of 161.
YOUNG SNUGFIT gave us our first win over the National fences at Aintree and KADOUNT was a Grade 2-winning chaser. Multiple Jumps winners include BALLYCARNEY, MISTER DILLON and DOYLY CARTE, who also landed a Listed mares' novices' hurdle at Cheltenham.
